Dr. Ronnie C. Barnes

Dr. Ronnie C. Barnes served as planetarium director from 1975 through 2007. He received his bachelor’s degree in physics from Vanderbilt University and his Ph.D. in astrophysics from Indiana University. The longest-serving director of the M.D. Anderson Planetarium, Dr. Barnes is responsible for the development of most of the shows and resources used over the years. He retired from the directorship in 2007, and still is active in the community.

Dr. Robert J. Doyle

Dr. Robert J. Doyle served as planetarium director from 1972 through 1975. His doctorate was from the University of Virginia, and his bachelor’s degree was from Georgia Tech.
